The Sling Shoppe is owned and operated by Stephanie and Colin Lehane and was inspired by the birth of their daughter Chloe. Chloe, a high need baby, wanted to be carried in her ring sling all the time. The sling provided the warmth and closeness baby wanted, as well as the privacy mom needed to breastfeed during outings. Stephanie was so grateful for this product that she wanted to share it with other moms and dads desiring to employ the concepts of attachment parenting in bringing up their babies. Her own experience when shopping for her sling proved to be more complicated than she had expected. There was no boutique in their small town, and the selection at the big box stores was limited, so she searched online. What she found was a hodge-podge of different manufacturers all touting theirs as the best, but no real information or place to compare the benefits and features of each sling. At The Sling Shoppe, we provide a large selection of different styles and brands so that our customers can compare the benefits, designs, and prices to find just the right product.
In addition to babywearing products, we feature recommended reading, and are expanding our line to include unique and fashionable products from other moms and dads working from home or running small businesses. If you know of a great artisan who should be featured on our site, please let us know!

We started www.theslingshoppe.com with a shoestring budget and a dream: to promote the attachment parenting lifestyle, to enable Stephanie the opportunity to work from home and raise our 4 children, and to expand our line to promote other Momtrepreneurs and their products.
